Oooh, look! An update!! (with ulterior motives...hehehe...)

I want to chastise other people for not updating their blogs...but in order to do that, I must first provide an update. That is my secret motive...shhh...don't tell!

I've decided to skip details. Those are boring and take too much time. So college...it's way different from high school. My Senior year, I did hardly anything and got all A's. Not like that anymore. Anatomy takes at least 2 hours or more per day! And with my first exam on Tuesday, this weekend will really be Labor Day Weekend. I will adjust though.

Currently, I am working front desk and trying to pull together an observation paper for Engl 111. I have no idea where I'm going with it. So I'm just writing...maybe it will end up pulling itself together...it happens occasionally, OK!

To Linda, Christie, Amy, and other MRMC people - I will post pictures soon! I need to take some first. I'll give you a ring when they are up.

To catch you up with things, I'm doing a list. I write less in lists...

1. Freshman Orientation - Crazy long!! Lots of mini-speeches and promotions and tips on how not to screw up. Like it'll help. I've found that those who are going to succeed are already in the correct mind set and those who are doomed to failure...aren't paying attention. True words. But there was free food!

2. Speed Dating - During orientation, they had icebreakers which appeared completely elementary and retarded...'scavenger hunt' and 'ropes course'...but in the end were enjoyable. Speed dating was the most exciting. Since it was new and I enjoy analyzing people, it was hard for me to stay focused on the girl in front of me instead of those around me. Very challenging. There were some girls who were cool. I asked questions, they asked questions. And then there were some who had the following idea: "OK, so, like, I'm the girl, he's the guy, and, like, he asks all the questions, and I answer them." So I was constantly having to pull questions out of...we'll wherever those questions came from. So we shuffled through about 15 people or so and then put checks by the ones who we would go out on a date with. I checked four. Then they announced some of the matches. The first match was...me and the first girl I meet, Ginger. We got $10 cash...like $10 will go further than Taco Bell. But money is money! She took the cash (as women normally do) and I gave her my email. Someday sometime somewhere we'll go do something.

3. Books - I felt bad for my parents...I spent over $400 for textbooks! Augh! Science books took up about 2/3 or more of that amount. The only one I really like is my English textbook...as usual.

4. Work - I have a job at desk...cushy job. YES! And I'm going to be a TA (teacher's assistant) in a couple photo labs. I'm cool like that.

6. Cell Phone!! - I've had my phone for about 2 weeks or so now. It's the best thing ever! If any of you don't have it, let me know and I'll give it to you. Txt messaging is addicting...

5. God - To end the list...the spiritual atmosphere here is great. Of my five professors, three have a devotion before class and the other two have prayer before class. That in itself is cool. Not to mention V2 (Saturday night), Chapel, daily email from the campus chaplain and Church. This is definitely a good place to be.

So leave me comments!!! Now!!! And keep thinking of me...pray that I will get my work done in classes, that God and I can work some stuff out, and that I won't stress out about little things. Now, back to my essay...

Muted Screams

No, I have not gone emo. I got two emails from Amazon today. One saying my Black Razr has been shipped (yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the second....drum roll......

I GOT MY PHONE NUMBER!!!! AUGH!!!!! I do something very unusual when I am excited. Only a couple of my close friends who love me for who I am who what that is. But my roommate was sleeping. So out of courtesy, I was unable to do my normal....ummm...what's a good word...ah! Ritual! So instead, this is what I did...

Hehe...it even makes me laugh...how lame...ah hahahahahahaha!

Well, I'm not posting it here, but those who need or want my number will have it. In other news, tomorrow I have an Anatomy and Physiology lab...killer. Three freaking hours long. Oh my. But someday I will complete my blog. Someday...

Until then, leave comments!!

P.S.
And as if I needed another reason to be glad I'm a guy...no 'roommate pictures.' AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

More to Come

College is busy, believe it or not. So I have not had time to complete my draft from...well, about a week ago. But a mass update is in sight!! But my studies must preceed. My apologies. May parents aren't sending me to college to blog.

But check back...hopefully, I will have something interesting posted.

Day 2 - continued

If your wondering, classes haven't started yet and so I blog 'cause I still have time. So I'm annoyed with me. I didn't think I could fall into the stereotypical freshman category so easily! Here is a list of what has already happened in two days:

  • I've locked my key in my room
  • Set my alarm for the wrong time and annoyed the crap out of my floor
  • Locked my suite mate out of the bathroom
  • Possible other things I haven't picked up on

So I'm giving up...I'll just be a typical freshman. No biggie. For lunch, I went to one of the professor's houses. She is Filipino and so the food was mainly Asian. Now, in Texas, there aren't many Asians and the local China Buffet has a bunch of meat stuff that doesn't look like it should be eaten (I'm mostly vegitarian). So I was cautions at first. But I dug in and it was awesome food!! All of it! I filled my plate twice! You know, I have a hard time taking people up on their generosity, but since she said I would be welcome back, I will definitely have to invite myself back!

I'm at work now...I got on at 11:30 and I'll be off at 4:30. Wow...I just realized how crazy that is. But at least I'm not feeling pukey tonight. I'm just chillin' and listening to Johnny Cash. Three more hours...then I can sleep...ah...

Day 2

I don't understand why I'm up...I don't have to be and I could use more rest. Maybe I'll catch a few more winks after this.

Tonya made it in last night. We went out to eat at daVinci's. The food was excellent! It was really good to see someone familiar. She had been up for a long long time, so she was extremely hyper. I never saw someone jump like that all on account of a beeper...hehe...

Last night, I worked front desk graveyard shift - midnight to 3:30. It was unbearable. Not because it was late. OK, maybe a little bit because it was late. But mainly, I was feeling sick. I think the chicken I had at daVinci's didn't settle right (even though it was great food!). The minutes just creeped by. I was so glad when I was done.

This morning, it's dark and foggy. The sun is trying to find it's way throuh. It looks cool. So, I leave you with another photo as I depart for my bed...

Day 1

Well, been almost a day since I moved in...and already I've locked my suite mate out of the bathroom we share and I've had to get an RA to unlock my room since I locked my key in. I couldn't believe it! Gah! Oh, well. Since I can't figure videos out yet, here are a couple pictures of me and my room. It's sooo nice to be able to legally have speakers and movies!

New Blog!

MSN is bad!! I was happy with them...but they decided to do an 'upgrade'. Blech! No bueno! So I am switching. I'll see how I like Google.

Yea for college!! Break out the strobe lights and booze! Haha just messin'. Left home Wednesday at about 7 in the evening and got here yesterday at about 3 p.m. Got finances all arranged and hauled my belongings up to my room. I'm located on 6th floor and I have a decent view. The land is very flat, so you can see for a long way. My roommate isn't here yet. I took my choice of everything except the bed...I was kind and left him the bottom bunk.

My parents left this morning. I have to say, it was a relief. I don't understand why college is so much different than academy was for them. But I suppose it just is. They will be back in about a week so it's all good. I'll post more later.

Right now I'm hungry so I'm gonna go check out what's for lunch. I'm going to do my best to keep from looking like a new freshman who doesn't know who to sit with. Wow...that hasn't happened in a while. Check back for more later. In the meantime, I'll try and post this video I took at 7 this morning...
